Before treatment:

• I contact patients in advance to discuss the proposed sedation.

• I confirm the medical history and ensure suitable escort arrangements are in place.

• I supply written patient information.

• I give patients my contact details in case of queries about sedation.

On the day:

• I bring all equipment, drugs and records required to sedate your patient.

• I re-confirm consent for sedation.

• I closely monitor patients throughout treatment, making them as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

After treatment:

• I confirm patients are suitably recovered for discharge.

• I give written and verbal post-sedation instructions to patients and their escorts.

• I remain available to answer any sedation-related queries after discharge.
